Making Summer Camp Equitable

At Luna y Cielo, we believe every child deserves the chance to connect with language and culture through meaningful Spanish immersion. To make this experience more accessible, we offer a sliding scale pricing model that allows families to choose what works best for them while supporting our mission. If you're interested in our Spanish Camp, please fill out the application — spots will be awarded based on availability and need.

📌 Important Notes:
✅ The Standard and Reduced Rates are limited, and we encourage families who can to choose the Pay-It-Forward Rate to help make camp accessible to others.

If you are requesting a reduced rate, please upload your last 4 pay stubs for your entire household. This helps us ensure that our sliding scale support is reaching the families who need it most. All financial information will remain confidential and is reviewed solely for the purpose of determining eligibility.

📅 Commitment & Flexibility

We understand that summer plans vary, so we offer built-in flexibility while maintaining consistency for language learning.

💡 How it Works:
✔️ Families committing to 4+ weeks receive priority placement. Shorter sessions will be offered as space allows. (see below)

✔️Add on additional weeks as space allows. (On registration select any additional weeks.)

✔️ We can work around your vacations. (Make sure to select your weeks on registration form)

How Many Weeks Should I Choose?

We recommend a minimum of 4 weeks for campers to fully experience the magic of Spanish immersion. That’s when we see the biggest gains—kids become more confident, start using Spanish spontaneously, and truly connect with our daily routines and play themes.

But we also understand that every family is different! That’s why we offer two flexible options:

Pequeño Explorador/a

Perfect for campers joining us 4 or more weeks

  • Full language immersion experience

  • Deeper cultural learning

  • Priority access to themed weeks & special field trips

  • Early access to camp sign up

Mini Immersion Campers

Great for families who need 1–3 weeks, these campers MUST be in a dual language program or a Spanish dominant heritage speaker. With fewer than 4 weeks, your child may not have enough time to adjust to Spanish immersion—making it harder for them to engage fully. This can unintentionally shift the dynamic, as bilingual peers may start accommodating English instead of staying immersed. A longer commitment helps everyone thrive in Spanish together! Enrollment opens to shorter sessions after full-time campers are placed.

  • Fun, themed weeks

  • Gentle exposure to Spanish through songs, movement, and play

  • Enrollment opens to shorter sessions after full-time campers are placed

No matter what you choose, your child will be surrounded by warmth, curiosity, y cultura—en español.

I registered my child for a week-long camp (at the last minute) at Luna y Cielo and Vanessa made it effortless. The registration process and form is straightforward. My child had a wonderful spring break at L&C. Not only was my child able to do hands-on activities, but was able to play and interact with a diverse array of children. Vanessa also made the space safe and inviting for my child, who is introverted. She was responsive to my child’s personality and she created the space for my child to feel safe and eventually warm up. We’re lucky he was also surrounded by Spanish-speakers, so he could continue being immersed in an environment that celebrates, encourages and participates in the development of bilingual and bicultural kiddos.
