Come play in a culturally relevant play space where kids can practice their Spanish.

Field Trips

Luna y Cielo Play Café will host private field trips for schools and daycare groups over 20 children on Mondays. Your organization will have private access for between 9am-2pm to play, take a class, and eat lunch. Our playroom is filled with imaginative play with toquecitos de Latinidad in our Panadería with different pan dulces, a cafetera to make Bustelo; our cocina has kitchen equipment like a tortilla press, pilón, cazuela de barro, un taller de ingeniería, and a casita filled with trajes típicas for boys and girls. There’s also a separate baby area for those children under 1 and non crawlers.

There are plenty of opportunities for independent play or group play. Ideas for teachers and chaperons to do with their students include:

  • Role play in panadería, cocina, engineering station, casita

  • Spotting and counting things by color or shapes

  • Scavenger hunt

For example en la cocina y la panadería the kids can take turns ordering their food or doing a cooking demonstration where they can explain what they are cutting or adding to their recipe while using their Spanish.

How Field Trips work

    • Luna y Cielo Play Café can be reserved for Field Trips by filling out our “Field Trip Request Form.”

    • We host field trips on Mondays.

    • Our space is 2800sq ft and is cozy enough for groups of up to 40 children and up to 10 adults. Half will be able to play in the playroom and the other half will explore our culturally-relevant sensory bins in our classroom.

    • The fee for Field Trip Sessions is $400 with a minimum of 20 children. Over 20 we will provide a quote via email.

    • A 50% deposit is required to reserve your field trip date and the remaining balance is due the Monday before your field trip. Or if you prefer to pay everything at once, let us know and we can get you the correct invoice.

    • We are a shoeless facility and socks are required for all guests. Masks are optional.

Upon entry, we will escort the class to our classroom where they can remove their shoes, outerwear, and adults may leave their bags. Everyone must remove their shoes and wear socks for to prevent hand, foot, and mouth disease.
Children will play/take a class for 2-3 hours and then are welcomed to use our classroom for lunch for the remaining hour.

Upon departure, children and adults will be able to get ready to leave while in the classroom and then leave together, once everyone is ready and your transportation has arrived.
